Girls Who Print, a revered platform dedicated to supporting and advancing women in print and graphic communications, is celebrating its 15th year and plays a pivotal role in the industry. In alignment with Women's History Month, the sixth annual Women's Print HERstory Month in March 2024 seeks to mobilize and empower women by encouraging them to share their stories and insights.

This insightful Q&A provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Tami's remarkable journey, her visionary outlook for the industry, and her fervent advocacy for empowering women in print.

Q: Tami, can you provide some insights into The Marek Group's journey and its evolution into a marketing execution powerhouse?

Tami: Certainly. Our journey at The Marek Group has been transformative, with a focus on providing comprehensive sales and marketing content across various platforms. From print and mail to digital communications, promotional products, apparel, and events, we've grown beyond traditional services to become a true marketing execution company.

Q: With over 30 years in the printing field, how have you witnessed the industry evolve, and what role have you played in this transformation?

Tami: The industry has shifted significantly into a highly automated manufacturing sector, and my role has been centered around leveraging technology and data for marketing supply chain solutions. Initiatives like launching our digital printing division and web-to-print platform have been key milestones in driving innovation.

Q: The Marek Group has received notable awards. How do these accolades reflect the company's values and achievements?

Tami: Awards such as being a 40 Under 40 recipient and a two-time Titan Business Award winner underscore our team's commitment to excellence. HighNote's certification as a Woman Owned Business aligns with our values of diversity and leadership in the printing industry.

Q: Beyond your professional achievements, you're actively involved in community initiatives. How does personal development tie into your leadership role and advocacy?

Tami: My role as a mother, wife, and community advocate is integral to who I am. Leadership extends beyond the boardroom, and personal development is about contributing to community growth, running events, providing advice, and supporting others.

Q: Your perspective on women in print is intriguing. How can the industry proactively invest in women, and why is this a priority for you?

Tami: Encouraging women to enter sales roles, pushing them beyond their comfort zones, and recognizing their achievements through sales spotlights are key. The industry should proactively invest in women, especially considering our industry's majority of female buyers.
